Hello,
I am a 20-something-year-old writer/reporter for a English-language publication in Bangkok and my first love is fishing. After several suggestions from friends and family to start recording my little fishing excursions and other random things about life in Bangkok online, I finally got around to trying to figure out how to use WordPress (though it was significantly frustrating at first because I’m a WP n00b that knew jack shit about the difference between a post and a page).
So, I guess this is me saying hello to the community.
“Hello” : )

Hi,
Enjoying your blog particularly on your big Snakehead…Well done.
Im also dreaming off a big Snakehead and have been quite sucessful in Malaysia.
Whats the best place/time for the big ones in Thailand?
RGDS Nick (Singapore)
Hi Nick,
Usually the best time for giant snakehead is during the monsoon in July (now). However thanks to a severe drought, the water levels in most of the reservoirs are still significantly lower than they should be making it impossible for the snakeheads to spawn their eggs. The spawning snakehead caught in my blog was caught recently at the Bang Pra reservoir where the water levels have been relatively healthy compared to the other reservoirs. As for the rest of the reservoirs most people are predicting that the spawning snakeheads should be back in full scale sometime around August but then again, who knows how long this drought would last for.
hope that helps Nick
